Happy summer every one! We are so glad that you decided to keep in touch with us over break! This summer, VOLthon decided to feature a different VP, director, or staff member on each blog post.
First up is Kendyl Colvett, Vice President of Finance for the 2019-2020 school year. Kendyl has been raising money through Miss Tennessee and wanted to share a little bit of her VOLthon story with everyone...
"Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is the national platform for the Miss America Organization. Because of this, all contestants in every one of the 50 states, plus DC and Puerto Rico, are able to share a bond over an organization we all care so greatly about. Miss America contestants contribute tens of thousands of community service hours annually and have raised over $16 million for CMN since 2007. I am lucky enough to be able to have such a close tie to this organization in being a Miss Tennessee contestant and also being on the executive board of VOLthon. The more hard-work, effort, time, & fundraising I put into this organization, I realize that what we are doing for CMN really is making a difference. Every $1 we raise is just a small part that will make a huge impact in a child’s life. Thank you CMN for allowing me to light up a child’s face when a “princess” walks in the room and thank you for allowing me to take unnecessary stress off these parents and allow them to put their energy into where it matters the most!" -Kendyl
Keep checking back to meet more of staff members and updates on the coming year!
