VOLthon's 2023 Impact

Updated: May 30, 2023

Funds raised by VOLthon during the 2022-2023 academic year went towards the purchase of a Lifeline Ambulance for East Tennessee Children's Hospital.

Throughout the 2022-2023 academic year VOLthon raised over $160,000 for East Tennessee Children's Hospital. These funds went towards the purchase of a lifeline ambulance for ETCH. Lifeline ambulances are specially made to fit the needs of neonatal/pediatric patients, and allow healthcare professionals to take the hospital directly too patients. With lifeline ambulances, ETCH is able to deliver fast and efficient care to its most vulnerable patients.

This lifesaving vehicle is essential to the level of care that ETCH delivers; however, it also costs three times more than a typical ambulance. This makes them incredibly difficult for hospitals to afford, in fact, ETCH is the only hospital within 100 miles of the Knoxville area to have a lifeline ambulance.

The ability of VOLthon to fundraise enough, in one year, for ETCH too afford a lifeline ambulance makes all the difference in the level of care that ETCH is able to provide. VOLthon's contributions continue to have an impact on the experience of hundreds of families, and we, as an organization, hope to continue making these impacts with the help of our miracle makers, donors, staff, and sponsors.
